Designed to help students with learning differences prepare for the transition from school to life after school. Written for middle school students, high school students, and adults with learning differences.
FEATURES This comprehensive curriculum is divided into eleven units. Each unit includes key vocabulary to target what students need to know in order to fully comprehend what they are reading. Units also include checklists, additional information, activity sheets for students to complete, and ideas for individual projects.
REAL-WORLD TOPICS Featured topics include determining interests, understanding IEPs, exploring careers, understanding what college is really like, completing a job application, choosing personal references, interviewing, understanding paychecks and job benefits, being a good employee, leaving a job, and understanding banking and budgeting.

Not every student who graduates from high school goes on to college. For those students who will travel the noncollegiate course, this product is an ideal way to prepare them for their future. The different real world scenarios provide comprehensive approaches to prepare students for job applications, work life, being a team player, and being financially responsible. I used this binder with my juniors and they have benefited from the topics, ideas, and the opportunity to practice reading and math skills through real world application. I recommend this resource for any special ed or vocational student trying to figure out how to proceed after high school.
